2011 Pagani Huayra Feature


The Huayra is Pagani's second supercar following the successful Zonda. Similar in design, it uses a Mercedes-sourced V12 engine and takes advantage of Pagani's in-house carbon fiber expertise.

Pagani thoroughly revised their production process to tool up for the Huayra. It uses a different type of construction, involving extensive use of titanium througout the chassis and suspension. Pagani says that many of the techniques developed for the Zonda R track-day supercar were used in the Huayra's construction.

During the 1980s, Horacio Pagani was one of the first men in Italy to apply carbon-fibre on production cars and he has ever since continued to perfect the application of the material.

For the Huayra, a special titanium laced carbon-fibre was created, which was already used for the final Zondas. The advantage is that it adds additional strength to the carbon-fibre without a weight penalty. This 'carbo-titanium' is used for the all new Huayra monocoque.

Mounted amidships is a bespoke V12 engine developed by Mercedes-Benz' subsidiary AMG. Displacing just under six litres, it is fitted with two turbochargers, which boost the power to over 700 bhp. The torque generated is an even more impressive; in excess of 1000 Nm. This power is transferred to the rear wheels through a transversely mounted dual-clutch, sequential gearbox with seven forward ratios. Developed together with XTrac, the complete gearbox weighs just 96 kg.

We'll keep our eyes peeled for official images and data as the weeks progress. Your guess is as good as ours at this point for things like power numbers, 0-60 times and interior fittings, but since this car does replace the Zonda, we'd expect nothing short of earth-shattering figures.

Through bright trim colors inside, Nissan LEAF creates a pleasing and stylish cabin environment. India’s compact car market is already packed with lots of cars competing for survival. Maruti Suzuki is dominating this segment for decades now. But, many automobile companies sees more growth potential in this segment, that is why they are preparing to launch more small cars in this segment in upcoming years. Nissan Motor India is one of them. The company which has tasted success in India with Nissan Micra is planning two new small cars to its product portfolio to tap into the demand for small cars in the India the next 3 years, according to AutocarIndia.

The first model (code: K2) will be built on a two-generation old Micra platform (code: K11) but will get a new ‘top-hat’ or all new body and interiors. The K2 which is due for launch in December 2012 is aimed at the Wagon R and A-star and will be priced competitively at around Rs 3.5 lakh. Engine options are likely to be the same 1.2 litre three-cylinder petrol motor that powers the Micra although a highly fuel-efficient 1-litre engine is also being considered.

Nissan’s upcoming I2 is expected to lock horns with Maruti Suzuki Alto, which is now the World’s No.1 small car. I2 is developed by Defiance Testing & Engineering, a company based in the U.S. and acquired by Ashok Leyland (AL) in 2007. It has to be noted that Ashok Leyland & Nissan have forged a joint venture to develop small car and now we know that it is I2.

We can expect AL to develop the I2 with major engineering work carried out in the homeland so as to keep the development cost down. As the I2 will target Maruti Alto customers, expect this car to be priced around Rs. 2.5 lakh and could be launched in 2013.

Nissan also has a JV with Bajaj and a low cost car will be born out of this. Generally known as the Ultra-Low cost car or ULC, we are yet to know if Nissan will include this car under its product portfolio. But, even without including the ULC, the Japanese carmaker is planning well ahead to enter the mass market with its Micra, K2 and I2. Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Tata Motors, better watch out!

The engine mods include a new exhaust system, larger throttle bodies and an ECU remap. The upgrades are offered for the M37 and M25 versions. Unfortunately, the M56, the model that really comes with a strong potential, hasn’t been touched.

The exterior package includes a new front bumper, front grille, side skirts, rear bumper, rear wing, and sports ducts to get that low, rough look. The car now sits on AURA SX-20 wheels and a new set of coil over springs. Bringing the gruff sound out of the engine is the new stainless steel exhaust system.

The ektra power kit does exactly what it says it does; give the car some extra bang and responsiveness. The device consists of an IMPUL Hi Power Control Unit and big throttle valves. Needless to say, using premium gasoline for the ektra power kit can bring out more power. Don’t worry if your Infiniti has already been equipped with an IMPUL Hi Power Control Unit, you can still boost the performance by adding the throttle valves.

Audi’s full-size luxury sedan will be entering the 2011 model year with an overhaul fit to be called the vehicle’s third generation. This new model made its world debut in Miami at the Audi Pavilion in Miami Beach in 2009 with sales beginning in late 2010.

The 2011 Audi A8 is based on the Volkswagen Group MLB platform, but maintains its Audi Space Frame aluminum construction as the previous generation. A new engine will be introduced for this generation as the 6.3 liter W12 engine finds a home in the A8. As far as knick-knacks are concerned, the sedan will feature all light-emitting diode (LED) headlights, an enhanced Multi Media Interface with touchscreen, and an optional 1400 watt Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Audi says the new A8 is the sportiest sedan in the segment, aided by a low center of gravity and the lowest roofline of any German rival. Despite adding two inches to the length, width and wheelbase -- and one additional inch of height -- Audi reckons handling has actually improved.

The 4.2-liter FSI V8 motor will continue on under the hood of the A8 with a few revisions and modest power bump. The 372 horsepower unit also promises reduced fuel consumption by 15 percent. Coupled to the motor is a new eight-speed tiptronic automatic transmission with manual mode. Manual gear selection is available via steering wheel rockers or by using the regular gear selection lever.

The A8 will also feature the newest version of Quattro, which features torque vectoring. This distributes drive individually between each axle and between the rear wheels for improved traction and stability. An optional sport differential distributes power between the rear wheels for optimal performance under hard cornering.

Tata’s vision was to make the Nano the most affordable car which is easy to drive and own. The vision is still incomplete as Tata is not offering Automatic Transmission on the Nano that promises to make the ‘first time’ driver’s life a lot easier.

that may be about to change as Autocar India is reporting that the Nano team is working on a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) variant of the Nano that will provide the best drivability for the common man.

Once the deal is finalized, the Canadian company could set up shop close to the Nano plant in Sanand. Tata could also consider bringing the second generation model to other markets in Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia. CVs are nothing new in India, Honda used to provide it on their City.

But Tata could expose the gearboxes to a much wider market in India if it introduces it in the Nano, as it also offers other better mileage and a smoother driving experience than a traditional automatic. The smoother-shifting Nano is predicted to arrive in India in November this year.

The Audi Q7 SUV vehicle range has introduced a whole new concept in this particular niche in the market ever since production for this model began. But with the return of the 2011 Audi Q7 into the market, it welcomes a few new tricks into the foray to give the added oomph to an already impressive vehicle lineup. The expectations for the 2011 Audi Q7 are quite high. Therefore, the engineers and designers of this new model also increase their performance. On the exteriod end, this one is rather large for a crossover SUV. It comes with a longer wheelbase and can therefore accommodate up to 7 passengers overall. The exterior wheels range in size between 18 and 21 inches in size but it could largely depend on the trim level options. Other notable exterior features for this vehicle are heated sideview mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, two-tone or monochromatic exterior paints, and xenon headlights, to name a few. The bumpers for this model has been slightly varied to introduce a sleeker design to facilitate better air intake.

Exterior

Already a style leader, the 2011 Audi Q7 stays up to date with revised front and rear fascias and slick new LED running lights. Ground clearance and towing capacity are class competitive in the unlikely event they're called upon.

Interior

Like any good luxury SUV, the Audi Q7 features standard leather, wood trim, heated seats, multi-function steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control and a power tailgate. Second-row seat heaters and four-zone climate control are optional.

Performance & Handling

The Audi Q7 is almost a new vehicle for 2011 in terms of its performance. While the turbocharged diesel V-6 is a carryover, it is now mated to a new 8-speed transmission and quattro all-wheel-drive. The Q7's new supercharged gasoline V-6 produces 272 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque in the base model and 333 horsepower and 325 lb-ft in S Line trim, mounted in both cases to the new 8-speed automatic and standard quattro.

Safety

Front and side airbags are standard for front seat passengers, as are side curtain airbags for all three rows. Side airbags for second-row passengers are optional. A host of stability technologies, including quattro, electronic stability control and traction control are all standard.
The base 3.0T's 272 hp can't quite match the old 3.6-liter V-6's 280 hp, but the 295 lb-ft of torque betters the 266 lb-ft offered by the previous, normally aspirated V-6. The slightly dulled reflexes of the lower-output 3.0T are still perfectly adequate for a people hauler - acceleration isn't neck-snapping, but you'll have no problem merging with traffic or passing dawdlers.

Both versions of the 3.0T are projected to use less fuel than the engines they replace, but exact EPA numbers are not yet available; the eight-speed automatic transmission alone is supposedly good for a 5 percent fuel economy gain.
What we don't yet know is the price difference between the two. Currently, $14,100 separates the base V-6 at $47,725 from the V-8 at $61,825, with the TDI nestled in between at $51,725.

New Nissan Juke 2011 " Mobil Sport Modern"


Nissan has solely declared the Japanese market launch of its modern condensed sports crossover ride 2011 Nissan JUKE. Already at the brand’s dealerships, the bold-styled JUKE is sacrificed the customers a brand-new vision in the compact version, mixing the quickness of a small sports car with the quality,safty and stoutness of a sport utility vehicle.

Nissan Juke is about to carve out a unique space in the rapidly growing compact crossover/hatchback segment with its combination of striking design, agile handling and driving pleasure and user friendly technology,” said Brian Carolin, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing, Nissan North America. “Add in the convenience, versatility and high seating positioning of a traditional compact SUV.

The 2011 Nissan Juke is a new compact SUV from this Japanese automaker. Juke seats 5 and slots below the Nissan Rogue in size. It comes in three trim levels: base S, mid-level SV, and top-line SL. Each is offered with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. That engine should have plenty of power to hustle the Juke, considering that this thing is small. With a 99.6-inch wheelbase, and at 162.4 inches long, 69.5 inches wide, and 61.8 inches tall, the Juke will actually be about the same size as the wee Versa five-door, which gets by okay with just 122 hp. The Versa's wheelbase measures 102.4 inches, while its length, width, and height come in at 169.1 inches, 66.7 inches, and 60.4 inches, respectively.The sole engine is a 180-horsepower 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. All Jukes offer a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that behaves like an automatic. The front-drive SV and SL can be equipped with a 6-speed manual.

Featuring the first application of Nissan's 1.6-liter direct injected four-cylinder turbo in North America, it will be available with torque vectoring all-wheel drive, so it might just be the driver's car of the bunch, too.

The 2011 Nissan JUKE is priced between 1,690,500 yen (18,460.96 USD) and 1,790,250 yen (19,550.75 USD), including consumption tax.Unfortunately, the three-pedal setup will only be available in front-drive SV and SL trim, however. That torque-vectoring system? It defaults to a 50:50 front-to-rear split, but it can push power from side-to-side along the rear axle when situations warrant.

Lotus has revealed today the new 2011 Lotus Elise facelift, a refreshed version of their popular sportscar that that features several changes at the front and the back and more fuel efficient and green engines. The new model will be premiered at the Geneva Motor Show in the first days of March.

The 2011 Lotus Elise Facelift received a redesigned front end with a new bumper, front clam and access panel that makes the car wider than its predecessor. The rear end features a more aggressive diffuser that is wrapped in an elegant new bumper which includes now the rear license plate.

Lotus installed new headlamps with distinctively sculptured LED lighting guides that make the car look more modern than the previous version. At the back lighting remained unchanged but the rear vents on the side of the outer tail lights have been eliminated.

This was implemented in order to provide sufficient cooling for an updated powertrain. With the optional performance pack installed, power in the Exige S is raised to 240hp (179kW) at 8,000rpm courtesy of a Magnuson/Eaton M62 supercharger, new faster flowing injectors, a higher torque clutch system and an upsized roof scoop to feed more air to the intercooler system. Torque is also up to 170lb-ft (230Nm) at 5,500rpm.

This bump in power sees the Exige S go from 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 145mph. Despite these high levels of performance the fuel economy has been slightly improved and now measures in at 25mpg (9.1L/100km) for the mixed cycle.
Lotus has an available instrument package for the car, which includes a hi-def LCD screen that displays systems information for the driver. Shift lights are still present, as are dual front airbags. U.S. purchasers also get a tire pressure monitoring system as standard. A touring package, with full leather interior, iPod connection, and auxiliary lights is available. So to is the sport package, with Bilstein dampers, traction control, and adjustable rollbar. The performance pack brings better brakes, a big roof scoop, and better performance. This last package brings the car up to nearly 240 hp.
